I feel blessed that I am able to blend my avocation and my career—photography and my work as the director of a nonprofit foundation that supports women and children. Through our grantees such as the Florence Project and K.I.N.D. (Kids in Need of Defense), I have borne witness not only to the discrimination and violence that occurs along the US-Mexico border and around the world, but I’ve also to gotten to know many of the amazing people who put themselves out there every day, giving their most while being paid the least and showing up every single day for a child in need.

They are my heroes.
